“Becoming Human” is een audiovisuele performance die over de meest fundamentele vragen van het menselijk bestaan gaat. Wat betekent het om mens te zijn?
Wat is onze plek in het universum? En wat is de betekenis van het leven? De performance bevat een expositie van collages. Na de expositie vindt een 4-delig concert met intense, energieke muziek plaats, begeleid door spoken-word. Met harde eerlijkheid biedt de Simone Catania een nieuw perspectief op het de relatie tussen menselijke identiteit en het bestaan in het algemeen.
Nieuwe mythes creëren
Mensen zijn altijd afhankelijk geweest van mythes om de wereld om zich heen te begrijpen. Verhalen hebben ons kaders gegeven voor hoe we ons moeten gedragen en hoe we onze plek in de samenleving vinden. Vandaag de dag loopt onze samenleving echter het gevaar om deze fundamentele bronnen van kennis en betekenis te verliezen. The performance features an exposition of intuitive collages, followed by a 4-piece act of intense and energetic instrumental music accompanied by spoken word. Through the use of rough honesty, the artist offers a new perspective on the relationship between human identity and existence as a whole.
Creating new myths
Human beings have always been dependent on myths to make sense of the world around them. Stories have since provided us with frameworks on how to act and find our righteous place in society. Right now, our culture is in danger of losing such fundamental sources of meaning and purpose. With “Becoming Human”, the artist advances a unique narrative that is intriguing and captivating to the modern mind.
